Acupuncture
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese Medicine (which has been used for over 2,000 years) where very thin needles are inserted through the skin at various sites of the body. Over the last few decades, it has become a widely accepted and researched area of medicine within the West.
In Western medicine, this is mostly to treat pain (for both musculoskeletal and chronic pain issues) but can also have a positive effect on lowering stress and anxiety, and enhancing emotional wellbeing.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture works to balance the body’s energy (or Qi) using pathways known as meridians and this can have a positive effect on internal health (including organs) both physically and emotionally.
I trained in Western Medical Acupuncture (often called Dry Needling) with the esteemed Bernie Nolan, who is highly regarded in the industry. I currently treat patients for a variety of health issues, such as:
- Musculoskeletal injuries (both acute and chronic),
- Chronic conditions, such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis
- Arthritis and joint pain
- Headaches / Migraines
- Sports injuries.
I am currently in my final year of a BSc Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (this is a dual degree in both TCM and 5 Element Acupuncture), which will expand my skill set to better treat patients with a wide range of health concerns.
I am currently a Student Member of the British Acupuncture Council.
What to Expect
Initial appointments include a thorough case history to assess current symptoms, followed by initial treatment. Treatment plans are individual to each patient.
Treatments are pain free and often patients experience a dull ache or tingling at the site of the needle. Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to treat pain and compliments body work.
Treatments may be integrated with other modes, such as body work, cupping, Gua Sha and the use of Moxa.

I have been having problems with my back, leg and foot for ages, so I went to Holly for some help. Holly used Acupuncture and massage in those areas and after 3 sessions, my issues were much better.
I highly recommend a visit to Holly if you’re struggling with aches and pains. She is a magician!

Following a car accident I was in, I saw Holly for treatment for back injuries. Holly used a mixture of massage techniques along with acupuncture in my treatment. I was very sceptical of acupuncture thanks to a previous bad experience.
However, Holly was extremely reassuring throughout, enabled me to relax through the treatment and it had wonderful results. I would highly recommend Holly for treatment thanks to her knowledgeable, kind and caring attitude towards clients.

I have been seeing Holly for a number of years for various aches and pains. She has always helped me.
Recently, I have had a flare-up of arthritis, especially in my hands. Holly used Acupuncture needles to treat me and I got such relief and benefit from this treatment.
I cannot recommend Holly enough!
